About Me:
Born and raised in Eastern Europe, I now live in Barrington, NJ, with my husband and toddler daughter. I decided to open Rendezvous Cafe because of my love for food, from basic grilled vegetables to exquisite French cheeses.
I love to create homemade natural food, avoiding chemicals, additives and preservatives common in so much of the prepared and fast food on the market today. I cook with only fresh ingredients, purchased every day from local markets. The bread for our panini is homemade, using a slow rising method and minimum commercial yeast, and it's my pride and hobby.
The inspiration for my place comes from French and Eastern Europe cuisine. As a teenager I spent vacations in Marseille, France working in different restaurants, bistros and creperies. This is when I fell in love with this simple and versatile food, the French crepe. My other inspiration is my mother-in-low. Born and raised in a little town close to the Russian border she cooks the only way she learned from her mother: from scratch, using simple, fresh ingredients.
