About Me:
Born and raised in Eastern Europe, I now live in Barrington, NJ, with my husband and toddler daughter. I decided to open Rendezvous Cafe to serve gourmet coffee and tea, delicious deserts and light, healthy food.
I love to create homemade natural food, avoiding chemicals, additives and preservatives common in so much of the prepared and fast food on the market today. I cook with only fresh vegetables, purchased every day from local markets. Our soup is made the traditional way using homemade broth with no MSG, low sodium and high nutritional value. The bread is homemade, using a slow rising method and minimum commercial yeast.
The inspiration for my cooking comes from French and Eastern Europe cuisine. As a teenager I spent vacations in Marseille, France working in different restaurants, bistros and creperies. This is when I fell in love with this simple and versatile food, the French crepe. My other inspiration is my mother-in-low. Born and raised in a little town close to the Russian border she cooks the only way she learned from her mother: from scratch, using simple, fresh ingredients.
